Collecting Money for Dawdon Strikers
Dawdon people setting out to collect money or donations of food for the feeding centre. They collected far and wide in County Durham, including at football matches, outside factories, and in town centres.
As with your linked item on the Dawdon Colliery Strike, was the photo on this thread also taken in 1929? Are you aware of the article by Stuart Howard in Volume No 21, 1987 in the "Bulletin of the North East Labour History Society" entitled "Dawdon in the 'Third Period': The Dawdon Dispute of 1929 and the Communist Party". See - http://www.jgfs.info/portal/Default.aspx?tabid=138
Do you hold any information or references (outside of the above Bulletin) to Communist Party and ILP activity at Easington Colliery prior to 1954? I originate from Easington and will be visiting the Durham Records Office soon to check on material relating to their local Labour Party and the Durham Miners Association/NUM in that period.
The Dawdon photos were all taken during the dispute of 1929. For references I suggest Jim Ancrum's article in Labour Monthly, September 1929, Matthew Worley "Class Against Class: The CP in Britain Between the Wars" and Roderick Martin, "Communism and the British Trades Unions 1924-1933". Durham County Record Office has the DMA Executive Committee minutes for the period but you'll find them remarkably uninformative.

A Fact Which Must Never Be Forgotten......
"Putin paid tribute to the veterans of all Allied nations, but emphasized that the greatest sacrifices of the war were paid by the citizens of the Soviet Union, who persevered despite the deaths of 27 million."

Hi, where did you find the Dawdon photos?
They are from a personal collection that was amassed by Gateshead Communist councillor the late Jim Ancrum
